May 1st 2015: House Updates

House Stuff:

November 19th: 1st listed our house at $174,900
December 15th: Temporary removed the house
February 13th: Relisted our house at $172,900
March 7th: Reduced the price to $169,900
March 8th: Signed paperwork on our new home
March 11th: Met with KB home Consultant. He recommended we reduce $5,000. We agreed to reduce by $2,500. He told us he'd do a few things for us and then on Sunday he contacted is saying he thought we would have reduced for the weekend. He said he'd get back to us and then on Tuesday he said he didn't have time and asked us to have Connie do it.
March 15th: We had out 1st house showing! It only lasted 5 minutes so we were discouraged.
March 17th: We received an offer!!!! It actually came on the 16th but our realtor didn't get it until the 17th. The offer was: $168,000 with us paying 3% towards closing costs, us paying termite inspection, $439 home warranty and $550 HOA transfer fee, out by May 1st. We countered with yes to all except we wanted full asking price of $169,990. We countered around 8pm on Tuesday evening. They had until 10pm on Wednesday. We then had another showing on Wednesday!!!! We received word that they accepted our counter around 9pm Wednesday. SO nerve wrecking!!!!!!
March 20th: There was much confusion with the termite guy and inspection guy. Kevin's phone wasn't working and we were told the termite guy was coming but it was actually the inspection guy. It went really well! He only commented on cracked roof tiles, noisy exhaust fan and no weather stripping on an outside outlet.
March 22nd: Termite guy came. All good!
April 9th or 16th: Appraisal was done. It lasted 20 minutes is all. Guy just commented that house was nice. He said he would have the report to the lender by Monday so we assumed we would hear by Tuesday or Wednesday. That didn't happen at all! We waited and waited and waited. We never did hear what it appraised for!
April 24th: We got word that everything was going through. We're moving!!! We have hardly packed as we kept waiting to hear on the appraisal. We secured a rental weeks ago and 2 storage units. Now it's go time! We have 1 week!!!
April 25th and 26th: These were our big moving days! We had lots of family to help. Thank goodness!!
April 20th and 27th: we had our meetings with the Design Center. We ended up with a total around $248,650.
April 27th: Another appt for Rajah! Plus, design center appointment
April 28th: Met with the Superintendent
April 29th: Signed closing documents
April 30th: Pack,Pack, Pack... A very difficult day! Last day at the house and 1st night in the rental. Koltin had a meltdown on the 29th and 30th, it was very difficult.
May 1st: We got word that the paperwork didn't go through yet. We had until Monday to close! Doctors Appointment (31 weeks).
May 4th: Our house on Coltin Way is officially sold. We can pay off debt!!!!!!!!!
Now it's time to adjust to this rental:-(
