We met with the ENT today, Dr. Page. He took a look at her ears, tonsils and adenoids. He said her adenoids were huge and her tonsils were big as well. She had a hearing test done and they could not pick up any hearing in her right ear. She failed her hearing test! She couldn't repeat anything the lady was asking her when speaking in her right ear.
Dr. Page said she was a candidate for tubes. He also suggested removing her adenoids. He said the tonsils were optional however he felt that we would be back in 6-12 months to have them removed. So, since she was going under anesthesia we decided to just go ahead and have it all taken care of. We just need Kinsley healthy. He also said she would need intensive therapy for about a year to help her catch up with her speech. He said we would notice almost immediate improvements. Recovery is about a week. So, our first child is having surgery and we hope this is for the better!
We also hope that her behavior improves. She has always been strong willed and does things the way that she wants them done. It's Kinsley's way or the highway as we say. But, her behavior has gotten so bad. It is all day long and no triggers at all. She screams, cries, throws things, hits, etc. When we finally get her to calm down she doesn't know what is wrong. She has been a little monster and we need Kinsley back! It is really hard to manage and it has raised my anxiety incredibly high.
