In July of 2011, Kevin and I were referred to a fertility specialist by Goodman and Partridge. After an analysis was done on Kevin the results showed his sperm morphology was low. Anything below a 5% is considered low and his was 3.5%. We were told at that time our only option to ever have a child was through IVF.
This was beyond devastating news. All we ever wanted was to have a child and begin our family. We had been trying for 3 years that June. We both took it pretty hard and weren't sure what the next steps to take were. We didn't talk about it for weeks, and about a month later, Kevin made our fertility consult appointment.
On August 3rd, 2011 we meet with Dr. Patel at Arizona Associates for Reproductive Health. Dr. Patel told us that he never sees anyone under 30 years old in his office and that we were too young to be there. He told us about the diagnostic tests that would be done and was certain they would come back okay. He said that we would be pregnant in 2011. We left feeling more optimistic than when we first went in. At the same time, I was incredibly nervous about what was to come.
